Alpha and Omega

WEEKENDING

Today’s Verse: Revelation 22:13 “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end.” NASB

We are studying about God’s redemptive plan on Wednesday nights right now. It never ceases to awe me that God created His Scheme of Redemption even before He created the earth and man. He knew before time that it would be necessary to provide a means by which man could be reconciled to Him. It calls to mind this verse where Jesus is declaring that He is the “first and the last”. He was there at creation, He was the first to be resurrected, and He will be there at the end and for eternity. When our worlds seems to loom too large for us to manage at times, what a comfort it is to know that God has us surrounded. Because He is in control, we have an eternal hope to which we can always cling.

  1. This is so true. With that sovereignty, we can believe in God’s power and control over our lives even simplest issues and things in our lives. Worries will surely be pushed aside.

  2. This is good Bryan. I also am amazed that God’s redemptive plan was not only made BEFORE we were born, but IN SPITE of the fact that most would reject it! Who can understand the love of God??

  3. Good morning. Indeed Jesus is the Lamb who was slain before the foundation of the world. While reading this, another thought came to mind. After time itself has ceased to be, the Jerusalem will be populated by those who have consciously chosen to be there. In the case of the angels, they kept their first estate when a third of their counterparts chose not to. In our case, there was a day when we accepted Gods free gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ.

Our salvation is so incredibly awesome that words fail to adequately portray it. We have a perfect high priest in Jesus who was tempted in all points as we are and was yet without sin. He tasted death for us all and ever lives to make intercession for us. He has promised to be with us always; even unto the end of the world. This comment could go on and on, concerning our Savior and Lord, Jesus.

    Blessings always in Jesus name.
