Commandment to save me.

fortress

Today’s Verse: Psalm 71:3 Be my rock of habitation to which I may continually come; You have given commandment to save me, for You are my rock and my fortress. NASB

Isn’t it wonderful to have God to depend on as our fortress? He is rock solid. He is unchanging with the winds of time or changing circumstances. His commandments are really designed for our best interest. Not that we do not have bumps in the road as His children just living in the world with everyone else. What we do have is assurance of where we will spend eternity and the assurance of His attention and protection in this life. Regardless of the circumstances that arise in our daily lives, we can always find peace and comfort in His fortress-like presence. Again, we see the idea presented that God’s way is the best way for our lives. It is not some list of arbitrary rules to ruin all the fun, but the best way to live our lives amongst others of our kind whether they are  saved or no. By that I simply mean that when we love God and love others, that includes those in our lives that are still belong to the world. If we live in God’s habitation, that is to say His control as Lord and Master, we live more purposeful and meaningful lives. We live each day with eternity in mind and with the assurance of His strength and help when we are attending to His will. It is His strength that can carry the day and His word that gives power. Let us live this day with the confidence of knowing that He in whom we believe is more than able. He is our rock!

May God bless your heart as you seek His.

  1. Wonderful post . . . just this morning I was focusing on how He is our fortress, how His Word protects us like a wall of defense, guides us, and brings a fountain of blessings overflowing into our lives. I use to think that trusting God in all the various areas of my life would be a kill-joy – but I have found the opposite – a life a always wanted lived in freedom, joy, delight, and exalting Him.
