Strong in the Lord

worry

Today’s Verse: Ephesians 6:10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might. NASB

Do we really allow God to do the heavy lifting? I see many in the church running around panting with tongues hanging out in fatigue. I see many in their personal lives that literally are being eaten alive from the inside out because they cannot let go of something in the past. I see people wringing their hands about the prospects of the future especially these days. And, those people profess to be Christians! The very things that should distinguish us from the world are all too often deficit in those claiming to be in Christ. Unforgiveness of self and others and anguish about the future ruin the blessings of today for them. Sorry, but that is a Godless life. But wait, you say? You believe in God, Jesus and stuff like that and even go to church sometimes? The hard truth is that you are not reading God’s word each day, not seeking Him and His strength in prayer and not serving in the Kingdom as His servant. You are living a life mostly in the world and cannot, as a result, be distinguished from it. Otherwise you would find it in your heart to let go of hurts. Otherwise you would be able to trust the future to Him. It does not have to be like that. The apostle Paul says, “be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might.” It requires faith, it requires obedience, it requires reliance on God and not on self. If you find yourself somewhere in this, don’t get mad…get down. Get down on your knees and ask God to help. He’s waiting.

May God bless your heart as you seek His.

  1. Thank you for such a beautiful piece. How restoring.
There is a peace from God which passeth all understanding that can come only from him. When we ask he gives it,
The peace of God is not one that comes from wringing your hands, worry or focusing on the bad… that peace provides us the ability to take a LONGGGG look at God and a short glance at the problem.

It is well. It always is. God reigns supreme.

His blessings always return a hundred fold. May they lie with you and others who seek his face today. Amen!
