What of those who have not heard?

Today’s Verse: Psalm 19:1 The heavens are telling of the glory of God; and their expanse is declaring the work of His hands. NASB

I often get asked, “What happens to those people who have not heard God’s word?” It is a good question and I think King David does a good job here of answering it. It is amazing, scratch that, bewildering to me that someone can look at the immensity and infinite detail of creation and not wonder about the creator. The heavens shout out that there is a God who set all this in motion who deserves our awe and worship. Creation should lead one rationally to the Creator. My favorite story dealing with this issue is that a person is walking through a field and spots something on the ground. They reach down, pick it up and examine it. It happened to be a Rolex watch. Some would have us believe that a rational person would ask, “I wonder what this used to be?” rather than. “I wonder who made this?” The creation points to the Creator. As a result of simply seeing His creation, one should seek to know Him better. This should not lead us to slack in our evangelistic efforts, in fact it should help us to know that deep down they desire to know the Maker because they have seen “the work of His hands”.

May God bless your heart as you seek His.

  1. Well said. I loved the analogy of the Rolex. I agree completely.
