Within the Veil

Today’s Verse: Hebrews 6:19-20 This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, a hope both sure and steadfast and one which enters within the veil, where Jesus has entered as a forerunner for us, having become a high priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek. NASB

One could write a whole book on these two verses, and in a way, that’s what the Bible is about. We have the assurance of salvation of our souls in Christ. There is the promise of Throne Room access directly to God in prayer because of the torn veil of separation from the Old Covenant when the high priest alone could enter on the Day of Atonement. Now Jesus has become our predecessor as the first born of the New Covenant and has opened our access to the Father. As the Bible is the story of God’s redemptive plan for all mankind, these verses are the sum of the outcome. What an incredible promise we have in Christ. We have salvation from sin’s penalty in future fulfillment and we have direct access to God in prayer present. That is indeed a safe anchorage in stormy or peaceful seas. Thank you Lord Jesus for the assurance we have in You, the anchor for our souls!

May God bless your heart as you seek His.

  1. The veil was torn! Jesus opened the way to come boldly to the throne. How blessed we are to serve such a faithful God!
