Is the eye of the Lord on you?

Today’s Verse:  Psalm 33:18 “Behold, the eye of the Lord is on those who fear Him, On those who hope for His lovingkindness,” NASB

Does this verse mean that God’s eyes are not on all? No. His eye is on all people, but what encouragement the psalmist is offering is that He watches over those who seek to serve, respect and love Him in a special way beyond mere consciousness of activity. If we trust God, we can know that we are securely in His line of sight, protection and provision always. I love the second part of the verse. We are told that God gives hope of His lovingkindness. This is not the hope that is similar to a wish. Not, “I hope God looks on me with lovingkindness.” Rather, this is the hope that is assurance. It is a promise of God’s lovingkindness towards those who love and obey Him. What a beautiful picture to sense that the God of all creation has His loving eye upon us throughout our day. We are never alone. We are never in need of love if we simply recognize that wonderful truth of God’s character. What a wonderful and loving God we serve.

Thank you Lord for keeping an eye on us today!

God bless your heart as you seek His.

  1. That was a message that I needed to hear today.
Thanks Bryan. Sometimes we just have to be reminded that God cares.
