Today’s Verse: 1 Corinthians 15:19 If we have hoped in Christ in this life only, we are of all men most to be pitied. NASB
If we are not in Christ sealed for an eternity in the Father’s glory, why bother? Interesting question Paul poses. He is simply saying that if what we have in Christ is limited to this mortal life and ends at the grave, why not just eat, drink and be merry like the world around us? Fortunately, Christ Jesus hasrisen from the dead as the firstborn of all of in Him who follow. What a wonderful sight it must be in heaven looking earthward and seeing all those who have fallen asleep in Him coming up the path to life ever lasting. What an incredible homecoming! Spiritual brothers and sisters walking the path from beyond all this mortal tent can hold to immortal existence in the presence of our very Creator and loving Father and God. The Christian life is not just the best and highest way to live in this life, but gives the assurance of an eternity beyond human comprehension. We see glimpses in scripture where men struggle with mere words to describe the indescribable. What a day that will be when at last all have arrived, time as we know it now draws to a sudden end and life everlasting begins. We are not to be pitied, for what we have in Christ goes well beyond the grave and even the joy we have in Him in this life. Praise God.
May God bless your heart as you seek His.
