Today’s Verse: Philemon 7 For I have come to have much joy and comfort in your love, because the hearts of the saints have been refreshed through you brother. NASB
Do people think this about us? Are we one of those people who when others walk away from are sapped of energy or refreshed? We all know someone who because of an unforgiving heart are carrying so much anger and spiritual poison in their system that we can just feel the lifeblood being drained out of us when we are around them. From time to time we may all pass through those dark moments, but they are to be given over to God who can then return us healed to our joy in Him. Are we not drawn to those, who like Philemon, give away from the overflow of joy that God gives? When we walk away from them we have been blessed. We feel better about ourselves and even the world around us. We can make the choice every day which of these we are going to be towards others. The source of this joy is Christ and His salvation. When we are continually in His presence, we have an abundance to share. We should not be able to contain it. We overflow. What a blessing it is to be in the presence of brothers and sister in Christ of whom we can say, “the saints have been refreshed through you brother.” Let us desire to be that in the lives of all we meet.
May God bless your heart as you seek His.
