Today’s Verse: Ephesians 1:7 In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace 8 which He lavished on us. NASB

What is so special about blood? God holds blood in high regard. It is certainly life-giving and sustaining. I am on my way in an hour to the Cancer Center to have blood drawn which these days is a weekly event. They can look at my blood and tell how I am doing chemically and physically and whether any changes are needed. God required blood in the initiation of both the old and new covenants with man. God “cut a covenant” by blood when first revealing His covenant with His people through Abram. Moses sprinkled blood on the Law and the people at Mt. Sinai as the Old Covenant came to fruition in the soon fulfillment of the nation-land promises. Christ shed His blood to initiate the New Covenant and provide a way of reconciliation between a fallen people and their God. What is it about blood though? It is indeed critical to life. It is, in God’s reckoning, crucial to payment of the penalty of sin. It is both physical life and by means of God’s grace also spiritual life. We usually can go back at least a couple of generations and recall whose physical blood runs through our veins giving us life. However, unless we have come in contact with Christ’s spiritual blood, we do not have spiritually healthy blood. Thank God for His provision of blood that sustains our lives physically and spiritually. There is indeed power in the blood. Whose blood runs through your veins today?

May God bless your heart as you seek His.

  1. I am so grateful that the blood of Christ paid the price for my sins, gave me a future with hope and a promise of eternal life in heaven.

The precious blood of Jesus gives us power over the darkness and every affliction. Those who put their faith in Christ have friendship with God and no good will he withhold from them. (Psalm 84)

Bryan, there is also healing in the blood of Christ. It is my prayer that you be healed of this cancer and restored to wholeness. I lift this prayer to a God who is more than able!
