Always abounding in the work of the Lord

Today’s Verse: 1 Corinthians 15:58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your toil is not in vain in the Lord. NASB

This is such a wonderful and encouraging verse for the believer desirous of serving this Savior Paul has so eloquently described. He says to not be disturbed or moved from your faith in Christ. We can know the truth and stand ever firm in His word solid on the foundation. This is not bull-headed, but steadfast. Because of this unwavering faith then we are to be ever involved in His works with the goal of bringing glory to Him. We are to be found not with just a toe in the water of works, but rather to be fully immersed in serving however we might on a daily basis. And the reward? How often have we striven in our worldly lives wondering what we are trying to achieve? How many more widgets does the world need? Of what eternal consequence is it if that part shows up at 10am or 2pm tomorrow? We can have the assurance that if we are striving to serve the Lord, that in which we toil is “not in vain”. It has eternal significance when we serve others. Lives are saved when we share the good news of God’s grace. Let’s abound in that work this day and always.

May God bless your heart as you seek His.
