Fought the good fight

fight-good-fight

Today’s Verse: 2 Timothy 7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith. NASB

Wouldn’t it be wonderful to be at the end of a life lived in devotion to Jesus Christ and be able to say these words? I suppose that most of us really don’t want to be at the end of our lives looking back, but the fact of the matter is that for some it might well be sooner rather than later. If we have the goal to keep faith and fight the good fight, then we will walk the path in such a way as to reach that place daily and accumulate days and days of faithful lives. It is not an end game, but rather a daily requirement of looking to Jesus for direction and strength sufficient to meet today’s service He desires of us. Today is the day to fight the good fight. Today is the day to keep the faith. Tomorrow is too late. We need to regain the sense of urgency in our devoted walk that finds us picking up crosses daily. Then, we can find ourselves at the end as Paul does saying these words with thankful confidence. It starts anew each morning.

May God bless your heart as you seek His.
