Then comes the end

line

Today’s Verse: 1 Corinthians 15:23-24 But each in his own order; Christ the first fruits, after that those who are Christ’s at His coming, then comes the end, when He hands over the kingdom to the God and Father, when He has abolished all rule and authority and power. NASB

There’s so much good teaching in this passage. I love the teaching on what to expect next. Jesus has already risen and now we await His second coming when we will all be raised up with Him. Then comes the end. What’s next in God’s revelation of the end…well, here it says Jesus returns and that’s it. He hands over His triumph to the Father. We all go to eternity for reward or justice. It is such an exciting scene for those who are in Christ. For those who are not, it is a tragic end with no second chance. The devotional thought for today is what are we doing between now and whenever that day comes? Are we taking seriously the souls of neighbors, family friends and coworkers? Will we see them on that day with the question in their eyes of why we did not tell them? Why did we not share the Good News that Jesus and Jesus alone saves? We can’t get to them all, but does that stop us from trying to reach just one today. Maybe another next week and so on? Is it so hard to tell someone you care about that Jesus came and died for our sins and all we have to do is to reach out and accept His salvation by faith and obedience (Titus 3:5; Galatians 3:26-27)? Will it be harder to explain to Jesus why we did not? I think so.

May God richly bless your heart as you seek His.
