Just Judgment

narrow-door

Today’s Verse: Psalm 9:8 And He will judge the world in righteousness; He will execute judgment for the peoples with equity. NASB

God’s judgment is not ever a popular topic. Like the Nicolatians of the first and second century, many today wrongly focus their complete attention and teaching on God’s forgiveness and grace to the exclusion of repentance and obedience. God is just. That is the basis of His judgment ultimately. He says here’s the commands I expect you to follow and when you don’t, it is called sin. The penalty for sin is death. Just because you don’t like the concept does not make it any less truth. But wait, because His nature is also one of compassion He has supplied a way to redemption and payment of that sin debt apart from our own death and judgment. He says if you will accept Christ Jesus’ atoning sacrifice (payment), repent and are born again in Him, you can be saved from God’s righteous judgment. More than fair or just, it is God’s grace to undeserving sinners. Thank God for His grace. However, you have to reach out and take it. ( see Acts 2:38 ) Living a life that is more “good” than “bad” doesn’t get you anywhere other than judgment. Don’t be fooled by man-made religions and traditions. Read the Bible for yourself and know the truth. God is loving and extends grace true, but He is also just. Trust Him, you want grace not justice. That requires repentance and obedience. Pay heed to Jesus’ words of warning, “For the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life, and there are few who find it.” (Matt 7:14) Jesus is the gate.

May God bless your heart as you seek His.
