Do not seal up the words

future

Today’s Verse: Revelation 22:10 And he said to me, “Do not seal up the words of the prophesy of this book, for the time is near.” NASB

To me, this is one of the most overlooked verses in the New Testament. When God told Daniel to seal up the words of his vision (Dan 8:26) he said it was because it would be fulfilled “in many days”. Many days turned out to be 387 years later. God told the apostle John not to seal up the word of the Revelation for “the time is near.” How so many can understand “is near” to mean two thousand plus years later is a bit hard for me to comprehend. If it is indeed past history, it does take much of the fun and sizzle out of what they like to talk about, but oh well. One day we will all know the truth more clearly. There is an end coming for certain and it is reward for the faithful and judgement for those who chose not to accept God’s salvation. That, most of us agree on. The key lesson of Revelation is that over-comers will be rewarded. I think that is such an important lesson for today. The temptations of the world have never been greater or more at our easy access. Few times in history has what is evil and sin in the sight of God been more accepted by the mainstream. Let’s strive to live today as those who are over-comers of the temptations Satan and the world put in our path.

May God bless your heart as you seek His.
