Seek Me

Today’s Verse: Amos 5:4 For thus says the Lord of the house of Israel, “Seek Me that you may live.” NASB

Who’s in charge today? Sometimes it is hard to tell. This is the day after Christmas and in most places of business, only those poor souls who don’t have vacation or seniority are around the office. The bosses are all home for the holidays. So, who’s in charge? Things can get pretty chaotic when we lose a sense of order or when everyone wants to be the chief. Too many priorities and top agenda items can ultimately lead to the whole deal grinding to a halt can’t it? It is rather interesting how difficult at times it can be to hang onto two simple instructions from God. Love Him and love others. In today’s verse, God is chastising Israel once again for forgetting rule #1. Do you ever wonder why it was they could not remember the one rule God set before them? It is always easier to see that sort of failing in others than in ourselves isn’t it? Who is in charge where you are today? God’s simple command for a life full of meaning and purpose is simply “Seek Me.”

May God bless your heart as you seek His.
