Mental Disciplines

Weekending

Today’s Verse: 2 Corinthians 10:5 “We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ.” NASB

It is hard for me to stay focused at times. There are so many different input stimuli coming at me I have a problem sorting them out, or in some cases blocking them out. You can’t hardly drive down the road, leave lone watch TV or read the paper without being confronted by some image that is not going to create Godly thoughts. Mental discipline requires practice. Paul tells us to take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ. That is a daunting challenge at times, but if our desire is to truly be more Christ like today than yesterday, then that is what we must strive for. Father, help me to hold my thoughts captive so that I might more fully be your servant.
