Seeking God’s Heart- by Bryan Shelley

Audio Version: seeking-gods-heart-psalm-5_4

Today’s Verse: Psalm 5:4 For You are not a God who takes pleasure in wickedness; No evil dwells with You. NASB

In a world filled with secret agendas, subterfuge and half truths, it is hard from a worldly perspective to imagine someone who is pure and above all deception rather than behind it all. For many it is difficult to comprehend a loving, forgiving and just heavenly Father when earthly experiences would lead one to think there is no such thing. It is difficult to believe that there are not some more “Terms and Conditions” to salvation in “fine print” down at the bottom that we cannot quite make out. We are taught by experience that, “If it sounds too good to be true, it likely is.” Yet, there is God, our heavenly Father, with His truth fully revealed for us to read over and over…available in “Giant Print” if you like. He says, “Examine it for yourself.” There is no guile, no “gottchas”, no “oh by the ways”, no lies and no wickedness. It is difficult to let down all the defensive and protective shields and barriers we build up around ourselves mentally to protect us from the fake, the selfish, and those who would do us harm for their own gain without so much as a second thought. We can learn to let Him through. We can experientially know that He is what and who He says He is. His offer that sounds too good to be true without some catch, is indeed too good for what we deserve as rebellious children, but is nonetheless true. We can trust Him with our every thought, fear, desire and burden. We can look into eyes in which there is no sin or temptation. We can dwell in His presence washed clean, debt paid, by our faith and obedience to His will. I bow before You heavenly Father, awed by Your mere majesty. I praise You with lips thankful for another “today” to serve You and the assurance in Jesus of eternity with You. You are Pure, You are Light, You are Truth and You are Love. You alone are worthy to be praised. I let down all the walls and desire just to fully know Your presence in my life.
