Seeking God’s Heart- by Bryan Shelley

Audio Version: seeking-gods-heart-luke-24_36

Today’s Verse: Luke 24:36 While they were telling these things, He Himself stood in their midst and said to them, “Peace be to you.” NASB

There are such painful and turbulent times at points in our lives that we need desperately to hear Jesus say the words, “Peace be to you.” What an incredible blessing to be able to find the eye of the storm and in its midst, there is our beloved Savior offering a blessing of peace. I obviously don’t know what storms or times of blessing each of you who read this devotional might be in at this point in time. There is no doubt that if you are not dealing with some turmoil or attacks in your life that you are just in between. May God bless you with a prolonged time of peace in that case. Others of you may well be in a situation in your home or work that seems like chaos and constant testing. In such times as those, we need to stop for a moment. Look around you and know that Jesus is near. Turn and look square at Him and ask Him for His blessing of spiritual peace in your life. Knowing for a fact that He grants such blessing, should give you all the confidence necessary to know that He knows your situation and will walk through it with you. Not only will He give you a peace in your spirit, He will walk by your side and carry you when necessary. I have faced times when I had to pray out loud just to be able to think straight because of all the turmoil in my life and mind. Maybe that is you today. I don’t claim to be prophetic about such things, but I have already prayed with a brother today that had just received one of life’s punches in the gut. You are left standing there wondering if you will ever even be able to breathe again. I have walked that path. More importantly, Jesus has walked that path and is willing to walk by you giving strength, and the blessing of peace. What a wonderful Lord, Savior and friend we truly have in Jesus Christ. Call on His name. Peace be with you.
