Seeking God’s Heart- by Bryan Shelley

Audio Version: seeking-gods-heart-hebrews-13_8

Today’s Verse: Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. NASB

Who is not struggling under the weight of rising gas and food prices? It just seems like everything gets to changing faster and faster, not always for the better. It is like even the rate of change is getting faster. Language is changing too. I cannot even understand what is being said at times. (by the way, according to my 17 year old, “bad” is bad again apparently). Technology changes every half hour, wait, every 20 minutes now. My wife refuses to attempt to turn on the TV because of the DVR and Home Theater Systems that interface with it have to be operated as well. We have three remotes just to watch a movie on DVD. I fancy myself a techie kind of guy, but frankly I feel a bit “left behind” on some of this stuff. I was helping a friend yesterday set the alarm clock on her phone. Who decides where to hide things on phone menus? Some “evil” little group no doubt getting a good laugh watching the rest of us embarrassed and fumbling to use the phone. Well, that’s enough of my morning rant. No doubt, you’ve got the point. There is a quote I have heard that says, “People don’t mind change, they just don’t like being changed.” There is however a refuge from all the disruptive change in our lives. Jesus does not change. If we desire to have some peace in our lives, all we have to do is pause and realize that the most important person and truth in our lives is not changing. He is rock solid. All about us the world is shifting about, trying desperately to change things. To what, who knows? At the very center of all things is God. He was who He is before creation, remains today and will for all eternity be the same. That is good, not bad.
